Sabah 2019: A test of Physical and Mental Endurance
It was an intense game of futsal matches. Over 50 teams gathered at the Yayasan Sabah Futsal Court last weekend to battle it out for the title of state champions and for a chance to proceed to the grand finals to claim the title of Raja Futsal 2019 for themselves.
The Sabah leg of Raja Futsal was concluded with Sainbara FT claiming the title of champions for Sabah, beating last years champions, Sri Aman with an end game result of 2-1. Raja Futsal also crowned its first female team champions, DBKK.

Sainbara FT’s team captain, Harnoman, shared that the journey to becoming the champions for the Sabah leg this year was difficult as they only prepared for a week prior to the competition. He also mentioned that having so many back-to-back games against strong teams was exhausting both physically and mentally. Especially against the previous year champion of Sabah, Sri Aman, who were also a very big name in Sabah. However, they are still going to give it their all to claim the title of Raja Futsal champions during the grand finals.

Lovella, team captain of DBKK also shared that their preparation for the day itself was not easy. However, their key to claiming the title as champions was to equally train their mental and physical stamina; to which they trained for weeks to prepare. When asked if they had anything to say to their competitors, all they could say was “good game, but we are glad that luck was on our side”.
